Description
An original mono pressing of Pink Floyd's mindbendingly excellent debut album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. This is the original first release of the album, its mono 1967 UK edition, released on Columbia (SX 6157). According to Discogs, there are two versions of this, distinguishable by the label text arrangement, and I believe that this is the second pressing from 1967, as described here: https://www.discogs.com/Pink-Floyd-The-Piper-At-The-Gates-Of-Dawn/release/1375670
Please note! This is the record ONLY. There is no original sleeve, unfortunately. It has an inner sleeve that may or may not be from the time of the release (I'm not sure, I'm afraid), and was acquired in a very nice – but completely unrelated – 'House of Smith's Liverpool Gramophone Centre' outer sleeve!
Please see photographs for the record's condition. There are several scuffs and marks on the vinyl, and it plays with a few pops and hisses, although there are no jumps or scratches that interrupt the flow of the music. It may benefit from being cleaned carefully – I have not done this myself as I may not have the skill required to do so with such a precious piece of vinyl.
So – record only, no sleeve, but completely playable, sounds great, some TLC would make it sound even better. I'd grade the record as Very Good, verging on Very Good Plus, using the grading system described here: https://support.discogs.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001566193-How-To-Grade-Items
A couple of people have asked about the matrix numbers on the record, so I'll add them here. They are: XAX 3419 -2 (side 1), and XAX 3420 -1 (side 2).
