Description
Up for sale is an original 1979 UK first pressing of Pink Floyd’s iconic double album The Wall. Catalog: SHDW 411 (discs: SHSP 4111 / SHSP 4112).
Key Features of this early pressing:
• Classic Gerald Scarfe brick-wall gatefold sleeve (no barcode on rear).
• No band member credits listed inside the gatefold (only Roger Waters credits) — a hallmark of true first issues (later repressings added them).
• Original heavy card inner sleeves with full lyrics, cartoon artwork, and “wall breaking” illustrations by Gerald Scarfe.
• Early matrix/runouts: e.g., SHSP 4111 A-5U … / B-5U / A-3U / B-2U early EMI/TML mastering.
This is the real 1979 UK release pressed by EMI, not a reissue or US Columbia version.
Vinyl (Record): Good condition overall. There are a few light surface scratches, but it plays really well and sounds great throughout. Expect the occasional pop and click, as you would with a used record of this age.
Cover & Inner Sleeve: Both are in good condition with some general wear and tear consistent with age. Overall, they still present very well and would sit comfortably in the Very Good+ category.
• Overall: A nice playable copy of this prog/rock classic with all original packaging elements.
Tracklist and full credits as per the original 1979 release (including “Another Brick In The Wall Pt 2”, “Comfortably Numb”, “Hey You”, etc.).
Ships well-protected in a mailer with cardboard stiffeners.
