Rare genuine 1969 UK FIRST PRESSING 9-track double LP, with 'The Gramophone Co' label perimeter text rim and without EMI logos, in the original front laminated gatefold 'Gigi' picture sleeve. The records look and sound almost like the day they were made – with surprisingly little background noise for their age – and the cover is in Very Good Condition with only a little shelfwear and some discolouration. See pics. A very nice collector’s copy of this unique 70s art-rock masterwork.

This controversial double LP from the Floyd at the peak of their post-Barrett space-rock career is hardly ever offered for sale in this condition.

This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine 1969 UK first pressing. The records are in Excellent condition and the cover and inner sleeves are all in Very Good condition. The LPs are the original 1969 UK stereo LPs, which were only played occasionally on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

Ummagumma is a double album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It was released on 25 October 1969, through Harvest Records. The first disc is a live album that contains part of their normal set list of the time, while the second contains solo compositions by each member of the band recorded as their fourth studio album.
Although the album was well received at the time of release, and was a top five hit in the UK album charts, it has since been looked upon unfavourably by the band, who have expressed negative opinions about it in interviews. Nevertheless, the album has been reissued on CD several times, along with the rest of their catalogue.
The album is also notable for its artwork, featuring a number of pictures of the band combined together to give a Droste effect. Like several other of the band's covers, it was designed by Hipgnosis.

For many years, this double LP was one of the most popular albums in Pink Floyd's pre-Dark Side of the Moon output, containing a live disc and a studio disc all for the price of one (in the LP version). The live set, recorded in Birmingham and Manchester in June 1969, is limited to four numbers, all drawn from the group's first two LPs or their then recent singles. Featuring the band's second lineup (i.e., no Syd Barrett), the set shows off a very potent group, their sound held together on-stage by Nick Mason's assertive drumming and Roger Waters' powerful bass work, which keep the proceedings moving no matter how spaced out the music gets; they also sound like they've got the amplifiers to make their music count, which is more than the early band had. "Astronomy Domine," "Careful with That Axe Eugene," "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun," and "A Saucerful of Secrets" are all superior here to their studio originals, done longer, louder, and harder, with a real edge to the playing. The studio disc was more experimental, each member getting a certain amount of space on the record to make his own music -- Richard Wright's "Sysyphus" was a pure keyboard work, featuring various synthesizers, organs, and pianos; David Gilmour's "The Narrow Way" was a three-part instrumental for acoustic and electric guitars and electronic keyboards; and Nick Mason's "The Grand Vizier's Garden Party" made use of a vast range of acoustic and electric percussion devices. Roger Waters' "Grantchester Meadows" was a lyrical folk-like number unlike almost anything else the group ever did.

A fantastic time warp example of this rarity in amazing condition, a true investment grade item - get it while you can!
