I purchased this set new about ten years ago, and I played it one time before playing a second time for grading purposes now.  It’s a fascinating collection.  According to discogs it was released in Europe, and it is an “Unofficial Release”.  By that they mean a bootleg.  But still, this is a very cool album set made all the more interesting by the album covers.  Side by side the covers give a picture of the infamous Comet Kahoutek, sighted in late 1973.  These two albums were released on the Ecoercive label.  I’m not certain of the year, but the recordings are from 1972.  According to the album cover notes, Eclipsed 1 is entitled “In Celebration Of The Comet Kahoutek”.  It was recorded from live stereo FM concert broadcasts, Rainbow Theatre / London 17th February 1972.  The album is essentially an early release of The Dark Side Moon, which was recorded officially later in 1973.  So this is an excellent opportunity to hear the early work on this classic album concept.  Eclipsed II is entitled “Floyd’s Of London (BBC Concert).  It was recorded from live stereo FM Concert broadcasts from the BBC / Peel Session in 1971.  This earlier recording is a preview of the Meddle album.  The recordings of each album are definitely not high end studio quality.  They are taken off the radio, after all.  But the albums present a great historical perspective of the evolution of this amazing band and two of their historic albums.  Both albums are in close to mint condition, and are rated a strong NM.  The cover of Eclipsed 1 has a small crease in the upper right corner, and the cover of Eclipsed II has a small crease in the upper left corner.  Both covers are rated NM.

Grading Information

I only use three grades in my grading:  NM, VG+, and VG.  The only exception is a sealed album which is presumed to have vinyl in mint condition.  My NM grading means, as noted above, that the vinyl looks and plays as though it is the first time out of the sleeve.  The VG+ rating is used on any album that plays great but plays less than perfect.  It may have a pop here and there, or either some occasional or even light consistent background noise.  The key is that, in my opinion, the album will be one you will be proud to have in your collection and will always enjoy hearing.  VG is the lowest grade I use, and granted, this is very subjective.  I will never sell an album that I would not play again myself.  That’s why I listen to every record I list.  I’ve thrown out quite a few albums that I wouldn’t want to say I sold.  Still, there are albums that play well but just have a little more than that typical level of noise.  They sound good, and I’m confident you’ll still enjoy the music.  But you should expect to hear some distracting noise here and there.
