Ultra rare seventh mono UK pressing from 1969 to the best of my knowledge.
Visually superb with just the tiniest shred of spindle wear. It looks like it's barely left the sleeve let alone seen much turntable action.
It sounds mega - warm & loud just like you'd hope from a UK sixties mono pressing with silent run ins & really no significant deterioration in sound to speak of.
The sleeve is pristine.
The original period sepia inner is pristine.
We all know that you can pretty easily get a first or second pressing with a gold label or a third pressing with a small 33 provided your pockets are deep enough. They sure as hell won't start bidding at £45.
Fourth pressings really aren't that difficult to find & fifth & sixth pressings aren't really that different to look at - much of a muchness if you already have a fourth pressing.
But I've been buying, selling & collecting for nearly 6 years & I wasn't aware that mono copies of any of the catalogue were even being pressed in the late sixties silver & black label era. I can't imagine more than a handful of these beauties made it out of the plant before the boss had a word.
& to top it off.. this one's an absolute belter of a copy too!!
There are no copies currently available on discogs.com. I'd be astonished if you see another one for sale all year.
If I wasn't feeling the January pinch I'd keep it myself - I think it's a special item.
I'd prefer to have taken pictures in daylight - I will add them to the listing if I get the opportunity.
