Description

Hello all. The time has come to clear some shelf space and cull some vinyl. As a collector for some 30 years I have accumulated some interesting odds and ends and hope you find something to your taste. I use RRPG guidelines and will never grade Mint unless it is new/unplayed and not sell anything under VG. Please see my feedback and bid with confidence.

A rare chance to own a piece of Audio History !

QUADRAFILE - Quadraphonic Comparison discs - 4 Systems, 4 Sides, 4 Speakers

In 1976 Hi-Fi News in the UK produced 2 unique discs to demonstrate the 4 different quadraphonic systems that were on offer at that time, SQ,QS,CD-4 & UD-4. Four companies agreed to co-operate to produce 4 identical sides of test and musical material. As well as tracks by the London Symphony Orchestra, violinists Yehudi Menuhin/ Stephane Grappelli there was an extract from Tubular Bells and a special remix of Pink Floyd's 'Money'.

According to Wikipedia only 1000 of these were pressed ,and this copy is hand numbered as 354. Possibly more were made but were scrapped following the decline in interest in quadraphonic disc reproduction.These records are in pristine condition. Included in original cover with insert and inner sleeves. They were pressed in Japan by JVC. A true collectors item.
