Here on offer is one of the most difficult Queen lps to find in nice condition. This lp being released when CD's were more popular so not so many original lps surface. The vinyl is very clean and has barely been played at all. The audio quality is exceptionaly clean clear and vibrant. Any interference was very minimal in the form of the odd isolated light click/tick to be heard only. In general the audio is graded at least excellent to excellent plus in my opinion. Don't take my word for it listen for your self in the player below. I have recorded the complete album for you to hear for yourself.
The cover and insert record sleeve is also very clean indeed. Just try to find another copy like this. Very collectable and sought after indeed.
Innuendo is the fourteenth studio album by British rock band Queen. Released in February 1991, it was the final studio album to be released in Freddie Mercury's lifetime and is the last to be composed entirely of new material.
It reached #1 on the UK album charts (two weeks) as well as in the Netherlands (four weeks), Germany (six weeks), Switzerland (eight weeks), and Italy (three weeks). It was released in the US one day after its UK release. It would be the first Queen album to go gold in the US upon its release since The Works in 1984.
The album was recorded from early 1989 to late 1990. In the spring of 1987, Mercury was diagnosed as having AIDS, although he was keeping his illness a secret and denied countless media reports that he was seriously ill.
The band and producers were aiming for a November or December release date in order to catch the crucial Christmas market, but Mercury's declining health meant that the release of the album did not take place until February 1991. Stylistically, Innuendo is in some sense a return to Queen's roots, with its harder rock sound, complex musical composition (title track), psychedelic effects ("I'm Going Slightly Mad"), and strong vocals from Mercury ranging over four octaves.
Nine months after the album was released, Mercury's AIDS claimed his life in the form of bronchial pneumonia. Current estimates at the worldwide sales of the album stand at around eleven million copies.
The album cover was designed by Queen and Richard Gray. The booklets and single covers from the album are by Grandville, or are inspired by his illustrations. Innuendo was voted the 94th greatest album of all time in a national 2006 BBC poll
"Innuendo" began as a jam session in Switzerland amongst Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon in spring 1989. Freddie Mercury was upstairs and heard them playing the beat, and turned it into a song, creating the melody and starting off the lyrics.
From then on all four worked on polishing the track and Taylor took over the lyrics (which were written as a tribute to Led Zeppelin and their song "Kashmir"). The middle section, written by Mercury, was included later and it featured a synth-orchestra programmed by producer David Richards and a flamenco interlude played by Yes guitarist Steve Howe, who had come to visit them and was asked to play.[11] "Innuendo" was released as a single in January 1991, debuting at #1 in the UK

The Vinyl
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warps and looks in absolutely superb condition. I find it hard to even see a blemish on the playing surface.
Any marks that possibly could be seen in strong light would be light whispy sleeve removal type scuffs/scratches only but to be honest any that there are would be very small and light and difficult to see. Importantly no audio sounding marks or needle marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops that I heard at all, perhaps the odd isolated light click/ticks only heard.
The Audio Quality
I have played this track for track at very, very loud volume prior to listing at very loud volume. From the moment that the needle hits the playing surface, it is obvious that this vinyl not only visually but audibly has barely ever been played. The audio is stunning cristal clear and vibrant, very bright and clear throughout without any signs of distortion at all and plays with a lovely deep bassey feel only found like this on early pressings. (Please allow for the odd isolated light click/ticks heard only) You can hear this album for yourself in the player above. Actual recording from the vinyl) I would grade the audio at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part.
Please note! I always add this disclaimer. Please allow for minor isolated light static/clicks/ticks perhaps heard in very isolated quiet places only,, but nothing constant throughout the audio. Please remember that this vinyl is an original 23 years old and would have been originally played on a 23 year old system.
Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 20 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes stat ticks/crackle. A constant clean before each play is highly recommended. This will reduce any static and enhance the audio quality. It is noted that I saw debrit left on the playing surface after play, indicating this will need further cleaning.. ((To be honest I never hear any major problems perhaps very minor light clicks/static ticks to mention only!))
The Labels
These are the original EMI labels . Light signs of play only no wear The spindle hole is free of any wear and of course is perfectly round. Very few spider marks can be seen only this has obviously barely ever been played.
The Record Sleeve
This is the original lyric picture sleeve no splits or tears very clean indeed.
The Cover
This Is The Original early 1st issue/ 1st UK Press un laminated UK cover in absolutely tip top superb stunning tip top condition! These are almost impossible to keep in near perfect condition like this! No real rubbing wear at all, Even the spine shows no real signs of crushing to mention and no real rubbing wear that is often seen. Amazingly no ring wear on the front or rear,, very very rare like this. The vinyl has always been stored in a case separated from the cover which has protected this for nearly 20 years! Any indents or marks or half moon creases that may be noticed only if looked for in my opinion. This cover is graded at least excellent plus to Very Near Mint close to best that you could find in my opinion.
