Queen : Jazz 1U/1U 1st Press w/attached Poster

This first pressing is one of the finest examples I have ever found and the clarity and definition of the audio is stunning to say the least.  There is only a couple of seconds of interference on S2 but the rest of the album is 'as new' no exaggeration.  I play every track in full so as to provide a 'complete' grade and this is clearly a record that has hardly ever been played.  It is visually stunning and has been so carefully looked after down the years.

That preservation 'status' also applies to the embossed cover which is easily one of the best I have ever seen!  It is unbelievably clean and very rarely the infamous poster is still 100% attached.  The picture inner is also in superb condition with no wear.  This first pressing is a stunning example of its kind.

Visual grading

'Mustapha' plays with stunning quality from the vocal only intro right through to the final note.  There is no intrusion and the clarity, depth and power of the audio could not be any more impressive.  An exceptional Mint start to the album.

Again the acapella intro on the classic 'Fat Bottomed Girls' is faultless and it continues in the same way.  No ticks, clicks or pops and no static either.  The production is often called into question on this album but the actual sonic quality cannot be questioned.  Another Mint track.

'Jealousy' plays beautifully with no interference.  Every note can be heard so clearly and even the long bass note fade out has no 'background'.  It doesn't get any better than this!  Mint

'Bicycle Race' also plays with stunning clarity and power from the get go and this standard maintained throughout.  So often the bicycle 'bells' have a fair amount of static but there is none here at all, just a couple of barely audible dust ticks.  This is Mint audio of the highest calibre.

Both 'If You Can't Beat Them' and 'Let Me Entertain You' play with sublime quality with no sign of any interference.  The latter is very impressive in that there is barely any inner groove distortion which is a genuine rarity.  I am confident in grading them as Mint - S1 cannot be faulted in any way!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

S2 begins with an outstanding version of 'Dead On Time' which plays with great power and depth from the first groove to the last.  Again I cannot stress just how good the playback is, there is no interference to be heard.  Even the thunderbolt is 'as new' as is the weather fade out.  This is clearly a record that has hardly ever been played.  Mint

'In Only Seven Days' plays with STUNNING clarity with not one solitary dust tick.  This is audio of the highest standard and Mint is deserved.

'Dreamers Ball' also plays with superb clarity for the vast majority.  I did detect a handful of mega light dust ticks but of course this is vinyl and to be expected.  The only intrusion is an odd crackle sound just before Freddie's final vocal that lasts for only two seconds.  There is nothing on the vinyl to suggest a cause so maybe it's just a pressing fault.  Because of that I will grade as Near Mint- but 99% is 'as new' for sure.

Normal service is resumed with 'Fun It' which plays with flawless precision.  There is no interference and Mint is again an easy grade to give.

The acoustic intro on 'Leaving Home Ain't Easy' plays to perfection and as Brian's vocal comes in this standard is more than kept up.  The clarity and definition of the audio is so strong and every melody plays with crystal clear sound.  A STUNNING Mint version.

The classic 'Don't Stop Me Now' plays with superb audio throughout with...no interference.  The sonic quality is second to none and there is no distortion on the top end.  The vocal fade out has no 'background' either.  Mint

'More Of That Jazz' ends the album with exceptional clarity and power.  With only a couple of dust ticks the audio could not be any stronger and again there is no inner groove distortion.  A Mint finish to the album without a doubt.

In summary this first pressing plays to a fantastic standard the likes of which are rarely found today and especially with the poster that is still 100% attached.  Yes there is a little interference at the end of 'Dreamers Ball' but it is so brief and the rest of the track is 'as new' much like the rest of the album.  The vinyl is visually stunning and as stated it has hardly ever been on a turntable based on the audio and that there are only a couple of spindle traces on the S2 label.  A stunning album with one of the best covers I have ever seen!

The Gatefold, Picture Inner & Poster

The embossed cover is in fantastic condition with no obvious wear and still has its original shape and structure which can only mean it has hardly been handled.  And yes the poster is still fully attached.  The top edges have no rubbing and only the bottom edge of the front cover has a minor rub towards the right corner.  The wide spine is near perfect with just one small crimp and the corners remain in great shape as do the others.  The opening edge is pristine, it looks untouched.  The front cover for once is incredibly clean with no marking and the back cover is just as impressive perhaps more so because it is predominantly white of course.  It has no marks and only a small number of very small scratch lines near the top edge which I only just noticed as they are so faint.  The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and any collector would be very impressed with this cover I am sure.  Superb!

The glossy picture inner is in great condition with no side splits or tears, no marking and no creasing either.  The thumb notch is perfect and the edges only have a handful of barely visible white 'specks'.  The attached poster is in 100% perfect condition!
