This first pressing plays to a fantastic standard and is easily a FINAL UPGRADE copy of that I have no doubt.  There is no interference on either side and the clarity and depth of the audio is equal to that un-played record, the playback is sensational!  As always I have play tested it in full and a 'complete' grading is given below.

The cover is in superb condition also with barely any wear and for once the lyric inner is in great shape with no side splits or tears - how rare is that?!  This is a stunning first press and has been so well preserved over the last 43 years.

Visual grading

The iconic 'We Will Rock You' plays with exceptional clarity and power from the first groove to the last.  There is such depth to the sound and in essence this is as good as it would have been back in '77.  A superb Mint start to the album.

The quiet intro on 'We Are The Champions' plays beautifully with no 'background' and the first chorus is equally as good.  It continues to play with sublime quality.  Again each note is so 'clean' and precise and I only detected 2/3 light dust ticks throughout the entire playback.  Another Mint classic I am pleased to say!

As you would expect on such an impressive vinyl 'Sheer Heart Attack' plays with amazing sonic quality from start to finish with no interference at all.  Yes the percussion should be higher in the mix but this is Mint without question.  You would believe the depth and power of the audio here, it just envelops the room totally!

The quiet piano intro 'All Dead All Dead' is so close to perfect with only a couple of barely audible ticks, the clarity is still incredible!  The first verse is again very impressive with just one momentary quiet static sound and a light ticks but I am being ultra picky here - the playback is superb!  From then on it plays with great precision and no interference.  It's rare to find this quiet track playing with such dexterity and Mint- is more than deserved.

'Spread Your Wings' plays with stunning clarity right from the start and progresses in exactly the same way.  Little more needs to be said - no clicks, pops or static just one light tick at the end of the fade out.  Still deserves to be Mint- though!

'Fight From The Inside' often has some inner groove distortion being the final track on the side but this is definitely one of the 'cleanest' versions I have heard in many a year.  Mint-

The intro on 'Get Down Make Love' is as close to perfect as could be and the opening vocal and first chorus then play with sublime clarity.  It continues in the same way with only one minor static tick and the psychedelic section is 'as new' there is no other way to describe it.  The rest of the track is just as good and Mint- is deserved.

The bluesy 'Sleeping On The Sidewalk' plays with wonderful depth and clarity that you only get from a 'clean' hardly played vinyl.  The audio has such a deep rich tone to it and easily grades as Mint from the first groove to the last.

'Who Needs You' has to be heard to be believed!  The clarity is sensational and there is no 'background' at all.  Mint etc!

The classic 'It's Late' begins with a perfect intro and the first vocal is of the same quality.  From then onwards there is much to admire - stunning clarity and power and not one iota of interference.  With only a couple of dust ticks at most this is such a 'complete' version and it plays with impeccable precision all the way through.  The 'heavy' section is just phenomenal and it goes without saying that this is infinitely deserving of a Mint grade.  Wow what a version!

The gentle 'My Melancholy Blues' ends this stunning album with a rare clarity of sound.  I say rare because this track regularly has some static/crackle and yet this version is so precise, so clean and there is just no intrusion on the audio.  I heard only a couple of very minor static ticks towards the end but this hardly qualifies as intrusion!  For this quiet track to play with such clarity is a genuine rarity and it ends this classic album with outstanding Mint- audio I am delighted to say.

In summary this first pressing plays to a unbelievable standard with no clicks or pops and no underlying static either.  The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio on both sides is so impressive and this record has clearly always been very carefully handled down the years.  In my opinion it is a FINAL UPGRADE time-warp classic - in other words there is no need to buy another as you could not find better audio than this!

The Gatefold & Lyric Inner

The cover is in lovely condition for once with only minimal shelf wear and has not been handled very much at all as it has retained its shape and structure so well.  The edges have barely any rubbing and the wide spine is super clean with only minor wear on each corner.  The other corners are also in great condition with barely any wear and the opening edge is nigh on perfect.  The front cover is very clean with only a couple of faint 'lines' and two 'specks' in the top left corner.  There is also one tiny 'rub' by the top edge top right.  The back cover has no faults and the same can be said for the inside which is in pristine condition with no damage to the inner spine.  A fine example overall and easily one of the best around.

The paper lyric inner (with rounded edges) has no side splits or tears and just two tiny 'rubs' on a couple of edges.  It has no marks and barely any creasing - a stunning example of its kind.
