Queen – The Works LP, Album | Uruguay | 1984 Label: Elektra (mispress — should be EMI) Matrix Side A: EMC-2400-141-A Matrix Side B: EMC-2400-141-B
This is a genuine Uruguayan pressing of Queen's "The Works," manufactured by R.Y.R. Groccia S.A. (FIMASA) in Uruguay. What makes this copy unusual is the label: it carries the Elektra logo instead of the expected EMI label. This is a known type of mispress that occurred at FIMASA, a plant that pressed records for multiple labels. Occasionally, the wrong label stock was loaded into the pressing machine, resulting in copies like this one going out with incorrect labels. These label error copies are scarce and sought after by collectors. The audio content is identical to a standard pressing. The matrix numbers (EMC-2400-141) are correct for this release. Mastered at Sterling Sound. Tracklisting on the cover is in Spanish.
