RANDY HOLDEN: Population II (Hobbit HB 5002)

• Condition : Cover is VG+ to VG++, usual moderate ringwear to front, right 1/2" of top seam is slightly frayed / split at opening, not bad for the title which usually shows up badly worn. Back cover has a couple faint stains, visible only at certain angles, no big deal. Has the usual cutout drillhole near the edge of the 'sun' (or whatever it is) above the guys' heads and going also through the label area of the LP itself (see scans). Vinyl is VG++ to EX, some light surface scuffs, plays mostly EX to NM.
• Description : Rare 1970 original of ex-Blue Cheer solo LP (actually, a duo lineup with Chris Lockheed, former Kak drummer, hence the LP title). This is heavy blaring loud acid rock, folks. If you prefer melody and finesse to, say, "Vincebus Eruptum", the first Stooges LP and Grand Funk's "Grand Funk" LP, this one might not be for you. The first verse on the LP is "I love the sound of a guitar player, it makes me feel so good inside...yeeaaah" which pretty much sums up what's going on here. First spare orig I've come up with in about a decade. Apparently this LP was never properly released or distributed at the time, very few were manufactured at all, and all copies extant have the cutout drillhole through the label area.
