Description
For sale is The Beach Boys' first single Surfin/Luau on X Records pressed in December 1961. This is the rarest pressing of the three copies of the Surfin 45. Legend has it that Murry Wilson, the bands manager and father of Brian, Carl, and Dennis Wilson, sold the X Records copy of Surfin/Luau after the band's early gigs out of the trunk of his car in 1961. The record itself is in good condition considering its age. Both sides of the record play without any skips. It is a little bit warped, but it does not affect the playability of the record. The A side Surfin has some small scratches on the vinyl. The label on the A side has what looks like a tear on the label on the lower left side of the label. The B side Luau has some small scratches as well. It does have an audible pop towards the beginning of the song. You can hear a bit of static as well. Please see the photos for more details on the records condition.
This is a very rare piece of Rock n' Roll history. Make it yours today.
