We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Original 1965 first pressing ...a hopelessly rare (rare...) local East Coast pressing with strange gold foil cover ... by this raw, high energy garage rock crew with a strange lead vocalist who wears a crazy ski mask (see acccompanying photo).... Again, this album is as rare as they come...

Not much, if nearly anything is known by Erik and The Vikings, not to be confused by the Detroit group with the same name ... these VIKINGS are a prinitive all guitar structured (no additives) line up fronted by ERIK ... and they kick it out ripping through tremelo, reverb and fuzz propelled classic sixties numbers ('You Really Got Me', 'Long Tall Sally', 'Whole Lotta Shakin'' etc) combined with some throwback early 60's melodies ('Little Honda', Stones 'Time Id On My Side' etc) ... there's the 'new English style' of the British Invasion and even though a couple of sunny Beach Boys surf-pop grooves, Erik and The Vikings make a strong effort to rock out wildly in several tunes...the drumming is enthusiastic and overall sound and production is primitive, and there lies the charm....

No doubt one of the rarest of USA 60's garage albums...don't be fooled by 'record collector' publications that don't give this the highest raring in "rarity" ... don't hold your breath for the next copy -- the last one went by when every everyone must have been a sleep....

CONDITION: The Cover: The gold and red foil cover has some light scuffs (the fragile nature of old foil 60's covers mainly ALL have mild to extreme scuffing), this cover not at all bad, very collectible VG+(+). The back cover contains group photos and song lyrics so you can all sing along...is clean VG++ having a few small x's next to selected song titles, minor as light and small... NO split seams, no bends, no writing.

The Vinyl: Plays clean...Vastly glossy over both sides, Nothing more than light little fine scuffs like from paper inner sleeve and such, VG++...the deep groove pressing easily plays excellent .. the unique KARATE label designs are clean
