PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. MEGA - RARE - Original ... extremely rare 1965 album released only in Germany on the Decca label. The Playboys were a decidedly exciting Scottish rock band who excelled within the UK beat boom Invasion era. Like The Beatles & others the Playboys relocated to Germany where they played exhausting multiple sets nightly. Discovered by the UK based DECCA label - who were on the prowl to sign the next BIG thing. Decca offered the Playboys a contract which included a deal of 45's & Lp's releases ... So enthused by the rockin' teen-scene raves of the Playboys, Decca informed the group they would fund an expensive to produce and unique-to-this-day four panel fold-out poster cover (or a cover that essentially folds out 4 times, showcasing the group.) At any rate the Playboys, like the Beatles, built a large following within the Hamburg, Germany club circuit. Reviews of their stage show applauded the groups "wild & exciting" performance. This very album catches the very kicks of the UK beat boom invasion as performed by the rockin' energy unleashed by The Playboys ! Essentially the delivery on this platter is in the same vein as early Beatles, Animals, Hollies, Zombies, DC-5, etc where the Playboys could have easily been on the same concert bill with any of the those bands.
The success of the band really was with John O Hara fronting on vocals with Jimmy McLachlan and Billy Simpson joining on rhythm and lead guitars plus their added vocals was a bonus, giving us a fuller sound. After establishing himself as the Playboys lead singer John became a real showman and a great act. He was known to climb and swing from stage curtains, roll about on his back, etc. He could really work and excite an audience as the photo below show. From rockers to ballads his vocal range was extraordinary.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: "EX (excellent)" The extremely unique 4-panal fold out poster cover is extremely fragile, yet incredibly preserved. No more than slight visual handling exists, no pronounced issues, so ultimately the 50+ year old artifact still has a fresh appearance -- there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy in this condition to say the least!
The vinyl: Rated: M- smooth and clear, immensely clean, plays perfect! Amazing for this teen-seen British Invasion artifact! Both gold/maroon Decca labels are spotless and striking!
