Description

THE D.J.M. BOOK OF RECORDS (1974) – RARE PROMOTIONAL SAMPLER
Label: DJM Records (SPEC 104)
Format: Vinyl LP, Compilation, Promo, Gatefold "Book" Sleeve
Country: UK
ABOUT THIS RELEASE:
This is an incredibly rare, promotional-only compilation released by the iconic DJM Records in 1974. Designed to look like a vintage red leather ledger, this "Book of Records" was never available for commercial sale. It features 20 tracks from the label’s roster, including early snippets from Elton John, Graham Bonnet, Mike Batt, and Blackfoot Sue.
Note: As a professional sampler, most tracks on this LP are faded after approximately two minutes to serve as radio/industry previews.
CONDITION:
Vinyl: Excellent. The record itself is in great shape, looking clean with a nice shine and minimal signs of use.
Sleeve: Good. The unique red gilt-stamped gatefold "book" sleeve shows some natural age-related wear, but remains a good display piece. (See photos for detail on edges and surfaces).
COLLECTOR’S NOTE:
A must-have for fans of the DJM era or Elton John completists. The oversized, fragile nature of this sleeve makes finding copies in this condition increasingly difficult.
