RARE Capitol/Mothers Of Invention/We're Only In It For The Money/Verve SKAO91457

  Up For Bid:

new paper sleeves, double poly bagged and ready to ship the same day if paid before 3pm central time mon-fri

1.              1.) 1st pressing (super Rare Capitol Records, record club 1st Pressing)

2.            2.) Pressed on the same presses that pressed Sgt Pepper‘s. Magical Mystery tour, Abbey Road... notice the fat handwritten O in the tail end of the matrix, just like in the Beatles dead wax. It is also the same handwriting. It is really cool having this anomaly of a rare pressing.  We're Only In It For The Money is making a reference to Sgt pepper- and then to actually have one that (only through Bureaucracy) was able to be pressed on the same machines and have a beatles-esque looking matrix#. Super Awesome and what should be the most sought after version above all others. This Record in itself completes the circle. (In far more ways than one.

3.             3.) This is a U.S. Record pressing. Not a U.k. Pressing (like the majority of black verve label copies are) this says MFD. By Capitol Records inc. USA to the bottom left of the Verve Spike. A u.k. pressing of this record came out after this and is a mere novelty. This is the original U.S. 1st pressing by Capitol on the Black Verve Label. By an American band on an American label pressed in an American Plant. For Example: The Zombies are a great band, they were from the U.K., so the most desirable would be a 1st u.k. pressing. Also Super cool. But this mix of satire and reality (the money album on capitol presses) Just Amazing. What More Could You Want, The Search Is over.

Super Super rare and almost impossible to find even on Ebay. these records just do not exist. People that had the money to be a Capitol Record Club member back in 1967 were very rarely buying The Mothers Of Invention records. This is More Rare than white label verve promo copies, it is more Rare than Yellow Label Promo Copies, it is more rare than the black verve U.K. pressings and it has the most mystique and cool factor.

Vinyl : VG Plays great all the way through. Some light record noise noticeable in a few spots. Plays really great and is clean. about 13 total scuff lines/and 3 scratches. No popping during play no annoying repetitive ticks. Also has  lighter paper scuffing throughout. played all the way through and was completely enjoyed. There was one softer "experimental section" that I noticed surface noise and that is why I say "in a Few Spots" above. I noticed 1 but there may be more, I just do not want to disappoint.

Cover : VG++ Cover feels really solid when you pick it up, really clean. Really light shelf wear to the top and bottom seams of the gatefold. Spine looks very good, everything is completely legible and it is VG++. The inside of the gatefold looks clean. There is light corner wear, but very little ring wear at all.

Grab a few more records from my store and you could easily save $10-$50 on shipping alone. I have had people save over a hundred dollars on  S&H charges.

Grading:

I use the Goldmine Grading System

"P"  "G"  "VG"  "NM"  "MINT" with "+" and "-" to add precision.

"MINT" only exists if record is sealed and still perfect.

"NM" I will very rarely use this grading, most of the NM records I naturally round down to NM- to not disapoint)

"VG+" is a  really nice record with only a few issues. VG+ is NOT a MINT copy and there could be up to three light noticeable marks and maybe a little more if the marks are faint scuffs or other marks that will not significantly affect the sound. It will howevor be glossy and clean. I only grade a record NM- if there are no regularly noticable marks and any marks that will be there will be faint, minimal, or hard to see.

As Always, You should wash every record you buy (even the brand new just opened records) before you play them,  it will sound richer and your needle will last longer. (I do clean many of the records I list before I grade them
