Description

"The Charlie Parker Quintet, Vol. 4" (Savoy, MG 9011, U.S., late 1940s (?)) 

A Savoy 10" from the late 1940s or early 1950s. Sessions from 1947 (Carnegie Hall, Gillespie; "Riff Warmer") and 1948 w/ Miles Davis ("Constellation," "Merry Go Round," "Barbados," "Ah-Leu-Cha," "Marmaduke"). The sleeve is original: soiled and handled with an inch long split at the lower edge near the mouth, a half-inch split at the top, light wear to corners (see images). the grooved labels are bright and clean with almost no wear. The record has some shadowing, needle mark, scuff, and a hairline scratch to each side. The playback evidences static and crackle: moderate on side 1; mild to moderate on side 2. No skips, no loud pops or clicks. Grade: VG (sleeve)/VG+ (record). Please see the images below. Low starting price; reasonable reserve.
