Description

Here is a rare pre-war spiritual blues 78 rpm record by Rev. J.C. Burnett "I've Even Heard of Thee" b/w "The Downfall of Nebuchadnezzar" on MERITT 2203.  The record has several light and a few deep visible surface scuffs, including a few needle digs, but plays through well on both sides.  Some of the sheen has faded away with some graying of the grooves.  Overall, sounds VG.  The labels are in great shape on both sides with just some light tearing at the spindle hole on the "B" side.  This record would be ideal for someone wanting to collect this for it's beautifully designed label.  No edge cracks or edge chips.  A nice, primitive blues laden spiritual record on a rarely seen label.

I ship all 78s in heavy paper sleeves secured between two thick pieces of cardboard taped on all four sides.  It is then wrapped in two layers of strong bubble wrap for extra protection. Finally, it is packed carefullly into a strong cardboard record shipping box that prevents movement of the record during shipping.  Please check my feedback and you will see where many happy buyers were pleased with how well their record was packed and you should expect the same.

Shipping is $5.00 Priority Mail anywhere in the U.S.A.  International bidders add $11.00 for shipping.  I will happily combine shipping costs at a reasonable amount ($1.00 for each additional record) for winners of multiple items.

Please see my other auctions for additional collectible records for sale.  Thanks for bidding, and good luck!!!

Please note that upon closer inspection this record also has several deep scratches along with the scuffs, especially on the flip side, that can be heard during playback, so the record should be graded more in the lower VG- range.  It has surface noise, and should be purchased for it's label more than it's playablility.  I hope this better describes this record, and I apologize for not seeing this earlier. Thanks!
