ARTIST:  Mad Dog the group was formed in Bay City Michigan in 1973. They were another mid Michigan group starting out in a garage, much like John Drendall and B.A. Thrower (Papa Never Let Me Sing The Blues).  Mad Dog consisted of Robert Charlebois on lead vocals, guitar, piano, harp and sax, Joe Charlebois on drums and backing vocals, and Don Langenburg on bass guitar.

The group had a melting pot of influences which included the Motown sound, English blues, American blues and metal, as well as the great rock-n-roll bands coming out of Detroit in the late 1960's.
In 1974, Mad Dog was asked to open for Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band and MC5 at the Skidway Lake Music Festival. The band played all original material and was making a name for itself. In 1975 the group was again asked to open for Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in Saginaw, Mi. at a club called Hidden Hollow. In 1976 Mad Dog recorded its first album. After a trip to New York and a slew of rejection letters from the major labels, the band released the record in 1977. The album received airplay and made numerous college radio station playlists during 1977 -1978. Commercial radio was not into music this heavy at the time. Distribution was a problem and the internet did not exist. Indie labels were few and far between. Mad Dog recorded its 2nd album in 1980 and so far it has not been released. After slugging it out for ten years playing up to 250 dates a year, the band broke up in 1983.

ITEM: Brocade was recorded in Arctic Studios in Trondheim and Roger Arnhoff Studio in Oslo, and published in the "Talent" in 1975 . In addition to Carl Haakon Waadeland (drums), Christian Schreiner (bass), Arne Jacobsen (guitar) - contribute Pete Knutsen (guitars and keyboards), Knut Riisnæs (tenor sax) and Wenche Hallan (vocals) on this disc.

Grading Information Below

Grades for vinyl :
M : new, un-played, perfect, usually sealed.
NM: like new but possibly carefully played a limited amount of times. Should play near perfect with almost no noise or imperfections. May show very faint imperfections from paper scuffs or tiny needle marks.
EX : as above with a few light needle marks, or a few light surface scuffs, and/or lightly audible marks. A very nice used record.
VG+:  between VG and EX, shows some scuffs and light scratches but no deep scratches and should definitely play through without skips or jumps but will likely play with some pops and ticks.

VG : still showing gloss but lots of small scratches and scuffs or some light groove wear. This is a used, played record that may have a skip, may have light surface noise throughout, pops, ticks, and maybe some light distortion/sibilance. Depending on availability, I do not consider VG to be a complete junk grade.
VG- to G : a record in less than VG condition generally plays poorly but I feel is still worth offering due to rarity.
Grades for covers:
M : perfect. like new, no wear, square flat corners, solid seams, spine etc., Usually sealed
NM : overall appearance of front and back near perfect but may have a very small problem such as a small corner ding/couple tiny spine chips, but nothing noticeable without close inspection.
EX : as above, nice "Strong-Solid" feel, but may have more spine wear, a bent or dinged corner or two, very light ring wear, any other issues such as splits, tears, hole punch, or moisture will be mentioned.
VG+:  Between VG and EX, no major seem splits over a an inch or two, no major water damage.  Edge chipping and smaller splits possible, ring wear, and small name or writing possible but should be noted.
VG: still has a nice overall appearance, but may have the following defects: seam splits, spine splits, small tears, ring wear, writing, stains, water damage, stickers etc. in various degrees.
Please also note that the majority of sleeves do have some sort of split in them and we do not measure or mention splits in inner sleeves. If you are concerned with the splits of inner sleeves please ask.
