Here is a great item for the serious Paul Simon fan. "SLIP SLIDIN' AWAY" was released as a single in 1977 and also on the "GREATEST HITS, ETC" LP that same year. It reached the Top Five on both the Billboard Pop Singles and Billboard Adult Contemporary charts. Here is a rare acetate of that song. I have not played it so I do not know if it is an alternate take or early version of the song which is often the case with acetates. Note that the label's handwritten title appears to be "SLIPIN SLIDIN AWAY." The label states "Columbia Recording Studio / 49 East 52nd Street, New York / COLUMBIA / Reference Recording." It is 10" in diameter, has the original manilla colored sleeve, is in nice condition and recorded on one side only with a second off-center hole visible on the back (see scan).
