Description

“Riverside Jump" b/w "Hip Shakin' Mama” by Jack Cochran on SIMS 107, original U.S. pressing from 1956.  Jack later recorded as Jackie Lee Cochran.  Both tracks are great rockers, and full of classic rockabilly-isms like "Go, cat!", "I dig you deeply", "rompin' an' stompin" and "real gone cat".  "Hip Shakin' Mama" is especially good, with a great guitar break!

Disc is VG to VG+ with plenty of gloss and very clean looking. There are numerous light scratches, but none deep enough to hear over the music.  Moderate surface noise does not detract from the great sound, and a very slight edge warp does not affect the music.  The sound would probably be even better after a good machine cleaning, but I prefer to leave that to the discretion of the winning bidder.

Labels are EX with very little wear, and no writing, stickers, stains or fingerprints.  Very displayable, despite a couple of small tears at the center hole where the disc has been chipped by a metal 45 adapter.

All of Jack's records are tough to find, especially this one--his first.  A must for any collector of rare and classic rockabilly!
