Te legendary debut album by Pink Floyd, masterminded by its extraordinarily gifted and tragically doomed founder and visionary, Syd Barrett.
Barrett's unique songwriting and vocal stylizing influenced generations of musicians and artists to follow. Lead guitarist, lead songwriter and violist, visionary, artist, and hero to and best friend of fellow bandmate Roger Waters, Barrett fell from grace like an angelic figure storming its way through hell.
It is for good reason that Roger Waters dedicated an entire album--"Wish You Were Here" to his lost friend, as well as based songs from "Dark Side of the Moon" on Barrett's irreparable torment ("Us and Them" and "Time").
Futuristic songs such as "Astronomy Domine" remained a Floyd concert favorite, as did "Interstellar Overdrive;" whereas whimsical creations like "The Scarecrow" and "The Gnome" emanate from the innocence of childhood literature extrude with adult gruesomeness.
Beautiful FACTORY SEALED condition! The cover has a tiny micro-spot on the back that is simply a manufacturer's flaw and is hardly noticeable at all.
