In Issue-times a "hard seller", Mehta was "new" for those Decca-Fans!

(Graded with AT110e (MM, 2,5g) Dear Collector,

It will appreciate your knowlegde about the old recordings from the late 50´s /early 60´s.

Because, if you mention to get records , at least 50 and more years old, which you can use with modern equipment without background noises, please do me a favour and look further, but not in my auctions.

It will be a miracle, even as possible as a Lottery jackpot, that you will find a SXL2xxx, an early RCA-LSC, or EMI/COLUMBIA ASD/SAX, which sounds like a new made re-issue LP.

The Devil is in the Detail, 40-50 years before now, the audiophile Music-Consumers, they were mostly no collectors in these times, use MM-Catridges, worst case, MONO-Catridges to hear those records, we all want to have now, but a record , played several times with a old MM, with 3g or even more on weight , you cannot hear with modern MC-Stylus without getting background noises, that is a dark legend.

I myself have a Thorens TD 320 in use, only for those records, and believe me, there a some Lp´s which i wanted to dump, just hearing it with my Transrotor/Clearaudio - MC-Pre-Amplifier Stuff.

I am glad not to do so, because now i have some very fine hearing sessions with these records, mostly not "quiet" but aceptable in my opinion.

If you want to have records without noises, buy CD´s , or the late SXL7xxx, made mostly in Holland, they have the right vinyl , that makes you happy, but you will miss the great performances, Artists and even Orchestras from the late 50´s/early 60´s !

Verehrter Sammler !

Bitte nehmt zur Kenntnis, das der Zustand einer Schallplatte nach 40-55 Jahren nicht über heutige Systeme (MC-Feinschliff und teure Vorstufen) nachzuvollziehen ist.

Für die ganz frühen Schallplatten der EXTRA-KLASSE habe ich mir extra einen zweiten THORENS besorgt (in dem Fall TD320), der diese Schätze zwar schonend , aber mit MM-Catridges abspielt, so wie sie damals gebräuchlich waren . Das Auflagegewicht ab 2g ist schon entscheidend, überhaupt einen Vergleich ziehen zu können.

Mein liebstes Beispiel: RCA LSP 1866 : Music for Bang, Baroon and Harp/Schory and Orchestra 1S/1S -Pressung, die hätte ich weg schmeißen können da meine Thorens/Transrotor/Clearaudio-Dreher da mit den AmeisenschamhaarMC-Abtastern der >500€ Klasse nur Spratzel und tocs und Jumps rausholen.

Wäre schade gewesen, denn ein Audio-Technica AT95 holt bei 2,5g Auflagegewicht und dem besagten Thorens TD 320 noch schöne Musik da heraus ohne große Nebengeräusche der mechanischen Art.

Also bitte, seit fair zur Schallplatte und zu mir, denn sonst können manch schöne Schallplatten niemals im Original bei Euch drehen. Und diese Re-Issues sind wie CD´s heute , kalt - analytisch und eben nicht "Original".

Als Empfehlung für den Musikfreund: " wenn es unbedingt auf moderne "Drehe und Abtaste" funktionieren soll/muss (?!), dann sammelt bitte die späten Decca SXL , die nur noch als "Small Band=Narrow Band" erschienen sind und EMI ASD´s ab 28xx , die haben anderes , weicheres Vinyl und taugen daher wesentlich mehr für moderne Systeme. Damit grenzt man sich aber schrecklich ein, was Interpreten und Einspielungen angeht - Man kann nicht alles haben……

Noch ein Tip: ich zelebriere meine alten Schätze wie einen Konzertbesuch, für den man sich ja meist in Schale schmeißt, will heißen, das ich der Schallplatte entsprechend , einen Tonabnehmer aussuche und montiere, der vom Alter nach am Besten zur Schallplatte passt , das ist zwar ein bisschen Arbeit, aber die   viertel/halbe Stunde ist gut investiert, bekommt man danach doch meist ein Ergebnis, das sich mit einem guten Glas Wein beim Konsum des Ergebnisses gut feiern lässt……….!
