Description
This is a vintage vinyl LP of Rosemary Clooney delightfully singing the essential songs from the Irving Berlin Movie Musical "White Christmas". This Album was released by Columbia, after the Film's release on January 1st, 1954. The cast album of a movie musical was not a "regular item" for producers. And with the complication of Bing Crosby being with Decca Records, and Rosemary Clooney with Columbia, it was a question of "turf" for the promoters/producers (!) So this is Columbia's answer to a "souvenir" of the film score (with "their" vocalist doing the honor). Here, Ms. Clooney used her real sister "Betty" for the "Sisters" duet.

This is a 10-inch vinyl LP--the label is clean, without tears and no discolorations. There are smudges and one "scratch" on each side of the record. The front of the album cover has generally good color with an abrasion on the right side, and a lower seam mark likely from
friction. The back of the album cover has aging and wear, and unidentified substancer near the opening of the cover. There is no inner sleeve. The catalogue number is clearly seen and unambiguous on both sides.
This is a rare, charming find of a great artist's work, and of recording history. Do not confuse this with the 2014 reissue (in green, red, and black). Enjoy!
