Description
This LP features Daniel Shafran (cello) and Lydia Pecherskaya (piano) in two sonatas for cello and piano by Shostakovitch (Op 40) and Schubert ("Arpeggione" in A minor). The label is RCA Victrola and is dated 1968. The matrix numbers on the run-outs are: L2R-0982-1K and L2R-0983-1K. The sleeve is laminated at the front and the sleeve notes are dated 1961. The inner sleeve is poly-lined and may not be original. Disc and sleeve were made in England.
The LP will be supplied with a 30g protective PVC sleeve and posted in a commercial Defenda LP mailer made of corrugated cardboard (no charge for these).
Condition of Disc The disc is glossy and looks unplayed and shows no spindle-wear or squirreling around the centre hole. It plays beautifully. I have conservatively graded the disc as "Excellent" (Record Collector grading system).
Condition of Sleeve The sleeve shows negligible shelf/handling/ring wear. The laminate is starting to lift on the left side (see photo) and so has been graded "VG".
