RICOCHET – Midas Light/Off The Rails * ORIG Heavy Rock Records 45 * HER 1 (UK, Stereo, 1980)

This item comes from Birmingham, UK - very close to the home of Ricochet!

Proud to present and in its original sleeve this legendary NWOBHM single release.  Reputedly only 500 of these were pressed back in 1980 and only 200 in the heavy card jacket, illustrated by singer Geoff Sewell. The sleeve has been xeroxed/copied over the years but this is the 1980 oversized 18.7cm by 20cm (approx 7.4 inches by 7.9 in) original.  Guaranteed.

The sleeve is in Good/Very Good condition with quite a bit of light creasing to the corners and the top/bottom.  There is a discreet number ‘210’ (maybe 210 from 500?) written on the front in the top right corner.  Some yellowing to the top edges (front and rear) and some ‘curling’ of the top section (probably from being stored with smaller sleeves.  Printed on quite a heavy gauge card – this is the true 1st printed sleeve from 32 years ago.  It’s SOOO hard to find at all and this one is in an acceptable, pleasing condition, not pristine but with NO rips, tears or splits.

The record labels are just fine.  No writing, stickers, residue etc and not much in the way of spindle evidence showing, perhaps that the record has not had much play.  Nice set of these vintage labels!

The vinyl shows some really light marks not instantly noticeable.  Held in strong light there’s a few wispy scuffs and small hairlines but nothing deep, nasty or feelable.  Looks A solid EX- (Excellent Minus) minimum, possibly EX to many people.  IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays just fine.  Some light crackle in the run-in grooves (soon disappears under the music) but that’s it.  No snap, clicks, pops.  No distortion or groove wear. A great listen!

Seminal and oh-so-rare early NWOBHM single in the super scarce original picture sleeve.  You can’t miss this!
