Description
ROBERTO ROENA Y SU APOLLO SOUND X ?– El Progreso LP /1978 International Records JMINT-934
Latin Guaguancó, Guaracha, Bolero, Latin Jazz , Salsa Masterpiece!
In 1969, he went on to form a band by the name of "Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound", arguably one of the best Latin salsa bands in Puerto Rico. Roberto Roena's new orchestra was baptized "El Apollo Sound" because the launch of NASA's Apollo 11 lunar mission coincided with the day of the band's first rehearsal.
Cover - G rough edge wear, chipping, chipping chunks on a a section of the opening edge. All can be seen in the close-up photos. Not that bad. Ive seen worse. I took pics at every angle so you can see for yourself.
Vinyl - G used with scuffs, scratches, a few feelers & a circular groove wear mark mentioned in detail below. I love this lp but I’m listening to different things
Original first press! Not the also hard to find second pressing on Fania. I don’t usually list vinyl lower than EX but despite this records look, it mostly plays VG. Some parts even better but again there’s definitely scuffs, scratches & a few feelers. Mostly only audible on track 1 & beginning of track 2. I uploaded a YouTube audio sample below. Please note Again, this jumps 1 time. Examining it under a very bright light, 1 grove to consecutive groove jump which appears to be due to a tiny record plant defect type bubble, common on this label. I dare you to find 1 tht doesn’t have a few tiny bubbles. When I played this twice in it’s entirety both on a Thorens & Denon turntable, it jumped from 1 groove to the very next groove 1 time and It continues to play good both before & after this. Finding a nm copy is extremely hard. This one is still a worthy player copy at a fraction of the price
No surprises! Please see feedback & buy w/ confidence.
? HEAR ? - YouTube sample I took of me playing the few blemishes mentioned above, Also play all quiet passages so you can hear how well it plays otherwise. Only very light crackles here & there mostly only between songs, in dead space. I take grading seriously. Idk if songs in vid are in the right track order but they are here for you to watch & listen to yourself. Please let me know if you have any questions. Offers welcome

To further elaborate:
Most songs play strong VG. Some even VG+. A few feeler scratches that are only audible for a few rotations here & there. Mostly on track 1 & track 2. I recorded a sample of some & uploaded them to YouTube. It is very important for me to describe items thoroughly & when I have time, take a vid of any defects so the buyer knows what to expect. No surprises. My top priority is buyer satisfaction. Again, there 1 forward jump track 3 side A. Literally. This track plays very strong VG until jumping once from a tiny record plant defect bubble that covers a few grooves/rotations. It caused circular groove wear mark on 3 grooves/rotations. This is definitely what caused the circular groove wear mark. I played entire album twice (all the way through) on a nice old serviced Denon turntable and on my vintage Thorens. Believe it or not it is minor as far as a single jumps goes & is a good player copy. I’m willing to bet you will not find an OG pressing without a defect bubble. On this label they’re practically nonexistent. I don’t usually list lps with this grade but the album is very hard to find in any condition. I have seen these listed as trashed with multiple skips sell for more than I’m asking. A true masterpiece in it’s genre. Hard to find in any condition
Please see my other tapes & records. I will consider offers & do combine shipping for multiple purchase orders. More items will be listed weekly / monthly. Stay tuned
