Description
ROLLING STONES: "Sticky Fingers" LP. VERY FIRST UK PRESSING, 1971.
ROLLING STONES RECORDS LABEL: CUN 59100 MAITRIX: CUN 59100 A1 / CUN 59100 - B1
Ultra rare A1/B1 1st press, virtually never seen and certainly not in this condition.
I am the first and only owner of this album it was bought in 1971 from my local record shop in ST. Albans and has been carefully stored in my collection ever since. Sadly I now need to raise some much needed cash and this along with with a few other choice records from my collection will be auctioned off. This is the first and I will wait to see how much it fetches before listing the others.
UNUSED FIRST ISSUE THICKER, PICTURE & CREDITS DOUBLE SIDED INSERT, IN MINT- CONDITION
Making it's first appearance on a Rolling Stones album, one side has the huge red lips and tongue logo, printed above the track
listing with full details and comprehensive album credits. The reverse side has a full size picture of the Stones, in unused condition,
uncreased, with all the edges crisp and flat, showing no ageing at all, just a gentle record impression. First issues were
made from thicker matt card than the flimsier paper of the later printed inserts.
ORIGINAL 1971 WARNER BROS. INNER SLEEVE, EXCLUSIVE TO FIRST PRESSINGS, CURVED EDGE WITH A
DIE-CUT CENTRE, THE PATENT NUMBER & "Made In England" ARE A PALE BLUE COLOUR.
STRICTLY FIRST ISSUE ONLY, TOP OPENING REAL ZIP COVER, IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION. EASILY IDENTIFIED
AS A FIRST ISSUE,THE LEFT HAND SPINE WITH THE PRINTED TITLES, IS ALSO IN THE UNIQUE SHAPE FOUND IN
THE 1960's DECADE AND EARLY 1970's. THE ENDING'S ARE TAPERED INTO POINTS, WITH THE MAIN PART FLAT
IN BETWEEN. THERE WERE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS IN MAY 1971 FOR GENUINE FIRST PRESSINGS, BECAUSE ALL
FOLLOWING COVERS CAME WITH STANDARD, UNIFORM SPINES.
The matt cover is near mint but at least excellent with only some very minor edge wear. This first press includes the full length working zip and the the belt at the top of the cover is a thin die-cut strip of card
The zip, in particular the fastener, has an untarnished, unrusted shining brass colour, Mint condition applies to an 'as new' zip.
The vinyl itself is totally mint and plays perfectly no hiss no pop and no crackle. I hadn't played this album for nearly 20 years until I bought it out in the last few days to do a test for condition and surface noise.
Please note for international buyers I will declare the FULL value of this item and by bidding you accept full liability for ANY import/customs charges which you may be required to pay.
