Description
Firstly, I am NOT a record dealer, but I am a record collector. The LP's I am selling are from my personal collection that I am selling due to a combination of downsizing and upgrading.
Here is a seriously rare original MONO 1st PRESS copy of the Rolling Stones' 1967 LP, "Their Satanic Majesties Request" (TXL 103), on the original UNBOXED, GROOVED DECCA LABEL WITH EARLIEST POSSIBLE MATRIX'S! It also has the very rare 3D 'Hologram' gatefold cover WHICH WAS LIMITED TO THE VERY FIRST PRESSINGS ONLY. This LP came out at a time when stereo was beginning to outsell mono, making this LP very rare indeed! This album sounds AMAZING in mono, which is much more punchy and vibrant than the stereo mix. This is one of the most sought after Rolling Stones' LP's as their only one off 'Psychedelic' efforts. It was also the last Stones album to heavily include Brian Jones before he began to take a back seat on recording sessions.
The cover is very clean and presentable. There's NO STAINS, NO WRITING, and the 3D Hologram is clear and vibrant. The spine is FULLY LEGIBLE and the sleeve still retains it's FULL SHINE - JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES!! However, there is a discreet repair to the front cover at the top where at some point the front gatefold part has come away from the back by about three inches. It is discreet and not massively noticeable. Also, there is a TINY bit broken off from the 3D Hologram on the bottom right, again, not massively noticeable but I want to make all known faults clear. As a result of these two small flaws, I'm grading the cover a MEGA STRICT Good+ according to STRICT GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT. This record has not been overgraded in any way.
The vinyl carries the earliest possible matrix of 1P/P1 and has the VERY FIRST EDITION "Unboxed" GROOVED DECCA LABELS! The labels are clean and vibrant and free from writing or discolouration. However, there are some spindle marks visible when held up to the light. The vinyl itself retains it's shine although has many marks. It has been used but certainly not abused. I've played the vinyl all the way through on both sides on a top quality system at loud volume that will reveal all flaws. It plays all the way through with constant surface noise and two light skips on "She's A Rainbow" and one small skip on "2000 Lightyears Away From Home". As a result of these flaws, I grade it a MEGA STRICT Good according to STRICT GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT. It has NOT been over graded in any way. Despite these flaws, the sound is still clear and vibrant and I've certainly enjoyed listening to this incredible album. This album can retail from around £50-£200 depending on condition. I paid £70 for it a few years ago, and have finally found a stereo copy for my collection, so I'm letting someone else enjoy this one - DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A GENUINE FIRST PRESSING OF THIS RARE ALBUM!!!
Postage will be £3.00 for First Class post to the UK Only. Mainland Europe (excluding France and Italy) will be £7 for standard delivery.
