The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in April 1962 by guitarist and harmonica player Brian Jones, pianist Ian Stewart, vocalist Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. American R&B and blues cover songs dominated The Rolling Stones' early material, but from the start they have included rock and roll in their repertoire. The Rolling Stones are credited for raising the international regard for the primitive blues typified by Chess Records' artists such as Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters, the latter of whom wrote the song " Rollin' Stone", after which the band is named.
Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) is The Rolling Stones' second official compilation album, released in 1969 shortly following Brian Jones's departure from the group and subsequent death. The album was released by Decca Records in the United Kingdom and London Records/ABKCO Records in the United States.
In September, Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) — dedicated to Jones — appeared with a limited edition octagonal-shaped album cover. Because their first " Big Hits" compilation had been released in separate formats, with the Aftermath-era material appearing only on its UK edition, the American edition of " Big Hits Vol. 2" included hit singles from the " Aftermath" period.

Original 1969 pressing on London Records, with octagon-shaped gatefold cover. Not a re-issue, No barcode. This LP is STILL SEALED in it's original shrinkwrap. There are no punch holes or cut-outs. The corners are sharp. The shrink is tight. There is some minor wear along the top spine, where the shrink has separated. There is a "$4.97 price sticker" on the front shrink. The colors are vibrant and there is just minimal wear to the cover, at the top, as stated. Very hard to find a beautiful SEALED copy of this '60's Rolling Stones' gem. Record is in nearly MINT condition.
