Description

The Swingin' Sounds Of The Jazz Makers by Ronnie Ross & Allan Ganley on Ember Records FA2023.

The vinyl has a beautiful "as new" sheen and appears virtually unmarked in normal light. Viewing under a bright light shows only a couple of light hairline scratches/marks and there appears to be only one spindle mark (that being on Side 2). The LP is very slightly "dished" giving the appearance of being flat when playing Side 1 with the outside edge being slightly raised when playing Side 2 - this does not affect the sound quality.

I have played several tracks, a couple have very light occasional crackle while others are clear even in the quiet phases. The sound is clear and bright.

The tracks are The Country Squire, Pitiful Pearl, The Moonbather, The Real Funky Blues, It's A Big Wide Wonderful World, Blues For The Five Of Us, I Won't Fret If I Don't Get The Blues Anymore and How Long Has This Been Going On.

The front of the sleeve has some grubby marks to the edges with a stain to the top rear (see photos). The laminate is intact and there is slight edgewear to the opening.

I have tried to describe the record as best I can and consider the "faults" to be minor.

Overall, this is a lovely copy of a genuinely scarce LP from 1965 and you would be hard pushed to find another example let alone one in this condition.
