DIAMONDS OST Lp by ROY BUDD. Original UK pressing on BRADLEYS Label (BRADS 8002), from 1976. Desirable, Roy Budd item. A sinister and beautiful film score from a movie set in the millionaire playgrounds of mid '70s Israel. Similar sound to his Stone Killer soundtrack on Fonit label but the Diamonds session contains lots more funky beats and moody arrangements. Most of the important compositions are variations on a theme with Budd playing electric piano / John Barry style zither / cembalo / spinette and celeste over cinematic jazz / bossa / strange lounge sounds with Middle Eastern style strings and motifs. The same funky drummer from The Stone Killer session is playing the freestyle hip hop / B-boy breaks and killer beats, for sure. Shades of David Shire - Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3 on THE THIEF / DIAMOND FORTRESS / I THINK I'M BEING FOLLOWED and THIEF ON THE PROWL. Stoned and freaky electronics on ROBBERY / Arabic jazz orchestrations on TEL AVIV and elegant bossa on CROWN JEWELS. Swirling Bollywood style strings and crazy percussion on MARKET PLACE and the I Marc 4 sounding BEAUTY & THE BASS theme features male scat vocals / psychedelic wah wah and bowed funky bass. Our soundclip opens with a few funky samples, followed by all the instrumental themes from the Lp. The sexy END TITLES vocal theme has been recorded too :) Mood music from the cult film directed by Menahem Golan starring Robert Shaw / Richard Roundtree / Shelley Winters and Barbara Seagull. Rare OST Lp!!! Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition overall with some hairlines. Light surface noises. Soft pops / ticks from a few little spidery scratches on Side B mostly to 'Hearts & Diamonds' and 'Party Piece' (not recorded) and the intro of 'Thief On The Prowl'. Light surface noises in places elsewhere (as you can hear on our soundclip). The card sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with some wear from storage. Creasing / fold lines to front bottom left corner area. Corner dings with light wear. Small sticker residue mark to back sleeve. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare OST Lp!!!
