THE RUNAWAYS LP ULTRARARE TEST PRESSING 1976 Cherie Currie Joan Jett Lita Ford Sandy West Jackie Fox. I got this album in early 1977 from the music department head and critic for the Cleveland Press (Ohio) daily newspaper, Bruno Bornino. He did not play it. I think I played it twice. I usually recorded on cassette, the albums that I recently received, so that I could play them in my car, and then filed them away. Had no idea how huge they were going to be. The cover has a little wear at the corners, and circular record size imprints on the front and back from rubbing against other LPS in my collection until I isolated it in about 1979. Everything about this is the original and the information sheet was inside the cover and not glued onto it. The Runaways and queens of noise title were written on the front of the cover with a black marker, I'm assuming by the record company. On the upper right hand corner it has the catalog number SRM 1 1126 stamped on it, and there are no other markings on the cover. Side B of the vinyl has a surface mar a few inches long but it's not a scratch. THE PHOTO OF THE BAND IN THE LISTING IS NOT INCLUDED, IT'S FOR LISTING PURPORE ONLY, I DO NOT OWN IT. Bruno got records constantly provided to him and didn't really pay attention to them as he was also the automotive department head and writer. Then he would hold PROMO sales every so many weeks and donate the proceeds to charity. I had heard of them so I bought it.
Saw them 7/19/1976 at the Cleveland Agora. After the show partied with them at their hotel bar and then in their hotel room with three other guys, one of whom is still my best friend. No idea what they were drinking at the bar but I would guess pop or juice. We were drinking Heinekens. Long story but talked with Joan Jett from about a foot or two away and she was noticeably swaying, maybe from exhaustion? She told me to call her the next day, so I asked her what name to use, and she said Joan. So I did, and spoke with her again, mainly about girls in Rock. Cherie kept leaving the room, and then didn't come back, my guess was to be with Kim Fowley. Sandy, Jackie, & Lita were really nice girls.

Addition/correction: When I bought the album at the Cleveland Press promo sale, I had heard the album already but didn't know what a test pressing was, with no identification of it or them on the record's label. Years later I discovered that you could find out about records by the fine lettering and numbers etched into the matrix lead out area of the record just before the label in the center. So the scribe info in the matrix area (see 3 photos I included), is important for the plating dept and the pressing dept.
