Description
Original 1977 UK 1Y/2Y 1st Press copy of Rush - A Farewell To Kings released on the blue Mercury label 9100 042.
The record has been ultrasonically cleaned in our amazing Degritter and has come up spotlessly clean and very shiny with no real marks. Clean labels & spindle holes - graded VG+, close to EX.
Playback reveals a very dynamic sound, typical of Rush recordings, which slams out of the speakers. Warm, dense & very engaging with excellent instrument separation - everything can be heard clearly in its own space. The vinyl plays through as it should with no jumping or sticking. There is some background noise/crackle at the start of Side 1 Track 1 and in some of the quieter passages/between tracks but nothing unusual for vinyl of this vintage.
The gatefold sleeve is sturdy & smooth with light wear to edges & corners, ringwear & light handling marks. Spine still clear & readable. No writing, splits or tears - there is a small area of tape reinforcement to the top opening corner but this has been carefully done & is only really visible on the gatefold inner.
Original Mercury printed paper inner sleeve is present with tape applied to the bottom seam, however, we have decanted the record into a brand new poly lined inner sleeve to keep the record pristine after cleaning - you will receive both.
A good copy to own, play & enjoy, fully cleaned & tested, ready to pop straight onto your turntable & blast out!
