Description

In 1982, Canadian progressive hard rock superstars Rush released their ninth studio album. They titled it 'Signals', and it followed the studio album 'Moving Pictures' that came out in '81, and the live album 'Exit... Stage Left', also released in '81. The safe thing would have been to make 'Moving Pictures' part 2, but that's not at all what happened!

On 'Signals', Rush used maybe the most synthesizers so far. Their music showed the band still heavy and still rockin', but growing as artists, and taking chances by being more experimental. It didn't sell nearly as well as 'Moving Pictures', but it's still a great album nonetheless! I especially like the tracks "The Analog Kid", "New World Man", and "Subdivisions".

And speaking of "Subdivisions", in 82, Rush and Mercury released a very cool 7" picture disc of that track, backed with "Red Barchetta" (from 'Moving Pictures'). The A side is incredible, and is their Starman logo and a pot leaf! Look closer. It's there, in different colors. The B side, with "Red Barchetta", is a small pic of each band member, and song titles and credits. UK import. A really nice vintage Rush collectible! Vinyl itself looks great, with only a few light surface marks on it. Nothing bad, and hardly noticeable. I can't vouch for the sound quality as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. It makes a great conversation piece and would look good displayed anywhere!

The UK publishes a fantastic rock magazine titled 'Classic Rock'. It puts a lot of the American rock mags to shame. I'll include the October 2004 issue, almost TWENTY years old, with Rush jammin' on the cover! It includes an extensive article about Rush that is many pages long. And also featuring articles about Van Halen, Dio, Megadeth, Blind Melon, and many more! This issue has been read a few times, but it's still in great shape. No pages torn or ripped out and no pages dog-eared or handwritten on. A sweet Rush double shot for the many Rush fans out there!

(RIP Neil. Seems like just yesterday you three were on tour, and making us all smile, sing along, and even dance a bit. Thanks for the many years of being an incredible musician in an amazing band. You are missed!)
