The Dixie Washboard Band plays "Wait Till You See My Baby Do The

Charleston" and "Livin' High" on Race Series Columbia

14128-D.


Ed Allen is on cornet, Bennie Moten clarinet, Clarence Williams piano,

with Jasper Taylor on washboard.


Note-I am a little confused on this one. Recorded nearly a year

into the electrical process used for Columbia's full priced records such as this, yet

it bears no distinctive encircled W in the runout. It is possible

that the record was intended to be issued on Columbia's budget

records (Harmony etc) which might account for it being possibly

acoustic, but I am not at all certain.


Recorded in New York on January 25, 1926, the record is in excellent

to excellent-minus (E to E-) condition.
