Description
NOTE-Please don't be concerned with my ebay feedback tally. I have
been successfully selling 78s for nearly 40 years. I know how to grade
them, and I know how to package them.
With a terrific vocal refrain duet with May Alix, Louis Armstrong & His Hot
Five do "Big Butter And Egg Man From The West" on an original Race label
OKeh 8423. Louie's vocal response to May Alix's vocal refrain is bound to
bring a smile to your face!
Louis is on cornet, Kid Ory trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Lil Armstrong
piano, with Johnny St. Cyr playing banjo.
On the reverse side they play "Sunset Cafe Stomp" with May Alix doing the
vocal refrain.
Armstrong's cornet is needless to say, right off the charts!
Both sides were recorded on November 16, 1926, at the historical Chicago
sessions.
The record is in clean E- to V+ condition with some faint internal B side
lams, no noise.
