Very Rare original radio transcription 4 record box set. Great collection of live recordings of superb freejazz. The pressing s were very limited as they were for radio broadcast and not commercial release. The records are in near mint condition. The box has minor wear. Features recordings by the ICP (Instant Composers Pool & Guest Soloists, Contra Band 86, New Klookabilities and Maarten Altena Octet with special guest Dagmar Krause.

The ICP band consists of George Lewis, Steve Lacy, Kent Carter, Misha Mengelberg, Han Bennink, Michael Moore, Sean Bergin, Paul Termos, Walter Wierbos, Garrett List, Larry Fishkind, Maurice Horsthuis and Ernst Reijseger and they play the following tracks composed by Herbie Nichols and arranged by Misha Mengelberg - The Gig, Houseparty Strating, Blue Chopsticks, Change Of Season, The Happenings, Hangover Traingle, Step Tempest and 12 Bars.

Contra Band 86 consists of Toon de Gouw, Mark Charig, Willem van Manen, Louis Lanzing, Hans Sparla, Hans Visser, Theo Jorgensmann, Paul van Kemenade, Rutger van Otterloo, Ron van Rossum, Hein Offermans and Martin van Duynhaven and they play Provident, De Ruyter Suyte part 1 and part III.

New Klookabilities features Michael Moore, Sean Bergin, Frank Nielander, Horst Grabosch, Walter Wierbos, Larry Fishkind, Michiel Braam, Jorg Lehnardt, Ernst Lehardt, Ernst Glerum, Han Bennik and Peter Prommel and they play Girofonetica, Swalch, Fly Over, Gyrodrome, Do The Pip/Mob The Mob, Gyroscope.

Maarten Altena Octet features Dagmar Krause, George Lewis, Walter Wierbos, Paul Termos, Peter van Bergen, Maartje ten Hoorn, Guus Janssen, Maarten Altena and Michael Vatcher and they play Schor, Improvisation, Goody Two Shoes, Improvisation and Points Coverging, Haai, The Feathers and Kloren, Uncle Jimmy's (Whew! That's a lot of typing! I hope some of you read it all!)

We do not play grade most of our records so we guarantee our visual grading with a money back guarantee that includes shipping. Generally, we do not list records below EX- condition unless it is exceptionally rare. We do not recommend audiophiles bid on records in less than NM- condition. Our grading standard is as follows.

Mint = only used for sealed records or records that we are certain have never been played.

Near Mint or NM - for the most part as good as it gets! No marks and will play clean with no noise.

EX+ - Will generally have one or two minor flaws, but will overall be near mint.

EX or Excellent, surface marks and background noise. Overall a very playable copy.

EX- Overall an Excellent copy with light surface marks, but with something that distracts, like a small scratch that makes a few pops.

VG+ Consistent background noise with pops that might annoy. Still a playable copy.

VG has many problems. Noise will dominate. May have quite a few pops.

VG- May have a skip or two and will definitely be very noisy.

G = Stands for good, our lowest grade. The noise on this record will be annoying
