Okay, so there are better compilations, but at 53 minutes, covering repertory from the title track through "Days," and all in glittering sound, it's hard to ignore this gem. The emphasis is somewhat weighted toward the group's earlier Pye recordings, but there's just enough of the later stuff to make it an almost fair cross-section of the group's sound and its development. The real treat is the sound -- because there's not a passage, whether it is electric or acoustic, that doesn't leap out and fill the room, and that's at normal volume; cranked up, this record is a great party album or a lease-buster. Otherwise, selection is weird enough to be enjoyable, looping all over the map from 1964 through 1970, and zigzagging through the likes of "Shangri-La," "Long Tall Sally," "God's Children," "Too Much Monkey Business," "Days," and "Cadillac."

(b)          The records are believed to come in the original, POLY-LINED “Made in England” stock inner sleeve.

(c)           The records are  apparently  pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(a)          True Stereo copies of this album are NOT known to exist.

(b)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

COVER IS STRONG NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP   (A SMALL PIECE OF SHRINK WRAP IS MISSING)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has some small writing on its back side (a small price code written in one corner)

-        Minor scratch mark noted in one corner on back side

-        Cover has a slight curly (wavy) warp across the front panel (none on the back); this will probably self-correct over time after the shrink wrap has been removed and item properly stored.

-        Cover has a visible "wrinkle"(crease)  in one of the corners.  (VISIBLE ON FRONT SIDE ONLY)

-        The cover has a few pressure points and lines (as if someone attempted to write on it with the ballpoint pen, but ran out of ink) {VERY FAINT - THE COVER HAS TO BE VIEWED UNDER CERTAIN ANGLE TO NOTICE)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No ring wear

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)
