Description
Exceedingly rare 7" lathe-cut polycarbonate single performed and self-released by New Zealand artist David Kilgour in 1997.
SIDE A: The Bootlegger SIDE B: Dirty Hall / Gone Mexico
Record details hand-written (by DK I presume) in red and black marker pen.
Comes in polythene sleeve with artist name, "Singles One", and issue number ("31 / 50"). Has insert - lyric sheet to The Bootlegger. Purchased by seller c1997, and played only once.
David Kilgour was a founding member of the New Zealand bands The Clean and The Great Unwashed, and long associated with Flying Nun Records. He has also had a long solo recording career. This 7" single is very much a DIY endeavour in the low-fi manner. Apparently lathe-cut records improve with repeated playing, as the process leaves rough edges on the groove which clear with successive passes of the record player needle.
