Description
RARE - Pet Milk -Grand Ole Opry Broadcasts 275 (July 7, 1961) and 276 (Jul 14, 1961) Some surface pops but nothing overbearing , played pretty cleanly for me graded G to 'VG- .Both sides have have been Ultrasonicaly cleaned and stored inside in LP sleeve. This is a recording of the actual show with announcers and audience.
This contains a rare live performance from Patsy Cline performing I fall to pieces which is considered by many to be her best recording of it. It also contains an error by her in the lyrics whereas the Jordainaires sing the correct lyrics in the background of it. I've see a couple of her other broadcasts with Jim Reeves sell but this is the first I've ever seen this broadcast for sale which must make it pretty rare. I've heard a recording of it on YouTube under this search: Patsy Cline ~I fall to pieces (April 14, 1961) [Live]. She also performs Lovin' in vain.
For those of you those aren't familiar with these, they were used by radio stations in the 60s as a weekly segment for the Grand Ole Opry. Radio stations were instructed to air the 2 shows and then destroy the record after airing. Since most radio stations followed the rules, almost all were destroyed and that is why the rarity of these exists. Very few are in circulation today and they probably belong in a country museum or Opry archive, or serious country collectors collection.
