Rare NW 45 Roger's Barn Dance Boys "Bonaparte's Retreat" /"He's Gone Up The Trail" Linden (Seattle) 136 early 50's. Dark Red Record has lots of light surface scratches but plays and sounds great. Labels have light ring wear. Including the original green sleeve I got it in. Record and sleeve came from Rollie Webber's personal collection. Before I got it the sleeve contained a Buck Owens 45. "It Don't Show On Me" is typed on the sleeve along with "Personal Property Of Rollie Webber Please Return To Rack After Use". Rollie, Buck and Willie Nelson all were DJ's in the NW during their early music careers. In 1958 Willie played with Roger's Barn Dance Boys but he is not on this earlier recording.
In 1958 the band played at Tiny Dumont's Dance Hall in Portland, Oregon. At that time, Willie Nelson was a disk-jockey on a Vancouver radio station. He and another radio personality, Ken DeBord, played in the band for about six months. It was shortly after that when Willie first went to Nashville.
