Rare, hard to find Material Issue Promo EP, plus bonus EPs from Chickasaw Mudd Puppies, Dead or Alive, Mind Funk, and The Soup Dragons.
I’m getting rid of some vinyl records, and it seems reasonable to sell them in lots to make shipping more economical. These are all 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm records. All are EPs (shorter playing time than LPs, typically two tracks per side). Some are marked “Demo” or “Promo.” This auction is for Valerie Loves Me by Material Issue, plus the four (4) bonus EPs described below.
Listed by a non-smoking household. These records were acquired in an estate sale, and have not been played by the seller. Ratings are based on visual appearance. I’ve tried to be conservative in grading; if you receive a record that does not play as expected, I’ll gladly give a refund or make an adjustment. Please see photos to help judge sleeve conditions.
Valerie Loves Me by Material Issue: This record features excerpts from the album International Pop Overthrow. Label/catalog number is Mercury PRO 907-1; both sides of the record are labeled “promotional copy / not for sale.” Side 1 has a single track, Valerie Loves Me (3:04). Side 2 has three tracks titled Diane (2:56), Out Right Now (2:03), and Trouble (3:18). The record looks to be very lightly played; I rate it E based on appearance. The sleeve is in VG++ or better condition.
Do You Remember by Chickasaw Mudd Puppies: Excerpts from the album 8-Track Stomp. Label/catalog number is Wing Records PRO 912-1; both sides of the record are labeled “promotional copy / not for sale.” Both sides are the same with two tracks: Do You Remember (2:52) and Interview (3:08). This record also looks very lightly played, or not at all; I rate it E. The sleeve is VG++ or better.
Brand New Lover by Dead or Alive: Excerpts from the album Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know. Label/catalog number is Epic 49–05965. Side 1 tracks are Brand New Lover (The Dust Monkey’s Love Bubble mix, 9:00) and Brand New Lover (Instrumental, 4:15). Side 2 tracks are Brand New Lover (Up Ducky mix, 6:35) and In Too Deep (Live, 4:34). This record also appears to be very lightly played; I rate it E. The sleeve shows some handling wear; I rate it VG+. Made in Great Britain.
Big House Burning by Mind Funk: Excerpts from the album Mind Funk. Label/catalog number is Epic EAS 3036; both sides of the record are labeled “demonstration / not for sale.” Both sides are the same with two tracks: Big House Burning (clean version, 4:27) and Big House Burning (dirty version, 4:28). I rate the record E and the sleeve VG+.
Mother Universe by The Soup Dragons: Excerpts from the album Love God. Label/Catalog number is Big Life 879 545-1; the back of the sleeve is stamped “lent for promotional use only; any sale or unauthorized transfer is prohibited and void ...” Side 1 tracks are Mother Universe (12" version, 7:30) and Mother Universe (7" version, 3:50). Side 2 tracks are Sweetmeat (12" version, 6:14) and Softly (Live, 4:16).
