Description

Reader's Digest stereo 12 disc boxed set, "Treasury of Great Music", grooved heavy vinyl blue label discs pressed by RCA.  Stampers are 4s 9s 2s 1s 3s 10s 8s 7s 3s 5s 3s 10s 7s 8s 4s 10s 8s 4s 8s 5s 8s 7s 7s 8s.  All 12 picture sleeves with pictures of the conductors are included.  Recorded by Decca, all with the Royal Philharmonic, in Kingsway Hall, London.

One of the best, and hardest to find, of the early Reader's Digest sets.  A literal gold mine of great performances in great sound.  Of particular interest are Stravinsky, Petroushka, with Oscar Danon, Brahms Symphony #4, with Fritz Reiner (his last recording), Sibelius Symphony #2, with John Barbirolli, and Francesca da Rimini and Bizet Symphony in C, with Charles Munch, just to mention a few.  See pics for complete program listing.

Discs NM- to NM, little to no spindle wear, just a very few harmless superficial scuffs from the cardboard inner sleeves that they came in, which have been replaced, slipcase VG++, booklet included.

Please note that this set weighs over 4 pounds, so international shipping is only by Priority Mail.  Media Mail shipping in the US is $4.
