Description
It's always a problem grading these lovely old SKA records.
They went to lots of parties.
That means that they're a bit battered and that's why many have names written on the label.
HOWEVER... they're usually cut VERY LOUD and though they look a bit rough, they sound OK (especially if you press the "Mono" button).
This means that a 60's Ska goodie can be perfectly acceptable, even if it looks R.A.A.B.B. (Rough As A Bear's Bottom)..
Please bear that in mind when reading my descriptions.
However...guess what?
Here we have a REMARKABLY CLEAN AND TIDY 1967 Caltone record number 101.
It features Roy Shirley with “Get On The Ball” accompanied by The Caltone Studio Orchestra. On the “flip” as we hipsters call it, is “Sound And Soul” by Johnny Moore, accompanied by Tommy McCook And The Supersonics.
It is, as you will have conjectured, a B.K. Kalnek production.
The record is in AMAZINGLY CLEAN AND SHINY CONDITION.
The “B” side is as clean as a Limerick thought up by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
It looks “as new”.
The “A” side looks the same apart from one ultra-ultra-light paper sleeve mark, which does not sound and is almost invisible.
You’ll never find a cleaner copy.
It plays beautifully and is probably EX or better.
It will fill the floor at any skinhead’s midsummer garden party, a revel with a police constable trapped inside a large wicker man, or Morris Dancing extravaganza.
