Robert Cray grew up in the northwest of the USA with gospel, Jimi Hendrix' rock guitar and Beatles pop sounds. His musical career began in 1974 as a teenager; by the mid-1980s he already had a good reputation as a live artist. His 4th album Strong Persuader received a Grammy award and the first single of the same name became his most successful hit. Over the years he has worked with many great musicians including Chuck Berry, Tina Turner, BB King and Eric Clapton. All these collaborations can be found on the second LP.
