Rockabilly Esquerita Promo 45 Record 50s Rocker Listen to "Rockin' the Joint'" 1958
This record is an amazing VG++ to VG+++ copy of the hot & wild Esquerita single of "Rockin' the Joint" backed with "Esquerita and the Voola" released in 1958 on Capitol Records.
This beautiful promo copy features pen writing on the center label of both sides, otherwise I would have graded it a Mint- because the grooves are stupendous.
Discovered by rockabilly great and Gene Vincent's guitar-man Paul Peek. Esquerita (real name Eskew Reeder) was signed to Capitol Records and subsequently recorded a handful of tracks including this one: "Rockin' the Joint" and "Oh Baby" which were pressed up and released as singles. The backing group for these tracks was comprised of Tony White (bass guitar), Vincent Mosley (guitar), and Ricardo Young (drums). Joining the group in the studio were female back-up singers the Gardenias. Because of Esquerita's unique style and huge influence on rockers like Little Richard all the way to The Clash, his recorded material garners a great deal of interest every time an item pops up on eBay.
Please take a look at my other auctions. Why? Because if you win one or more of them, I can send all the records together for the low-low shipping charge of just $4.00 in sum total. When you are saving $6-8 per record on postage, you can put more money towards music and less is wasted on freight charges.
