Description

An original 1st Mono press of BB on UK Decca from '68. Matrix 4/3. Stampers 1B/1BK - excellent audio provenance. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono gatefold cover. We also have the correct Decca inner too. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) In great condition and has only see light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks, and a couple of superficial trails per side - nothing heavy or troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Well worth snagging the 1st mono copies - the mono audio is just astoundingly good. What I like about this copy is that someone's been very careful with it - it has not been overplayed [like so may other examples]. What this means is you're going to get clean delivery of power in the uptempo number. But it will also mean those paired down acoustic numbers will play clean too - you will get all that acoustic magic with maximum ambience. And there are plenty of them! Prodigal Son & Factory Girl are like...wow! Nothing to interfere or annoy. This copy is acing it across the board. Hard to find fault. Love it. Nothing worse than a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Not quite up to the standard of the vinyl, but still very well preserved. The cover has not aged too much - just off white but still very presentable. Not much sign of creasing or defacing. A couple of thumbnails back and front, but little else noticeable. The interior looks superb - no issues. Relatively little edge wear and firm openings. The spine is a wee bit grubby, but not bad. Text still just about all legible and some compression [difficult to avoid on this title]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest edge wear. Bag present. No splits.
