Description
Greetings! This auction is for a rare Rolling Stones LP, (RSD-1), untitled, but known as "The Promotional Album" It is an extremely rare (only 400 pressed), record, made for distribution to radio stations in 1969. Unfortunately, the vinyl is in poor shape, so this auction is really for the cover. The record is listenable, and does have some rare tracks if you can get through the popcorn noise.("Route 66", "Off the Hook", "Love in Vain"...) The cover is in fair-good condition, the flaws being a small blemish just to the left of the label: "A Special Radio Promotion Album in Limited Edition. Not for sale". Also, the left edge is frayed somewhat, where the paper label has chipped or lifted off the cardboard backing. The cover depicts the group in the studio during the "Let it Bleed" sessions. The back cover is in good condition as well, just some slight age yellowing, and light scuffing. The record itself is on the dark blue U.S. London label, with "RSD-1", "Made in U.S.A." and "Not for Sale".
I can't guarrantee this is not a copy,(I hear they are out there, and I don't know all the points of issue), but it did come from a man who worked for 30 years at a local radio station, and came with a box of LPs and 45s , all white label promos and /or DJ/radio copies. A neat item for the collector, and a nice cover until a better vinyl copy comes around.
