This is a rarely seen & interesting version of "Their Satanic Majesties Request," featuring a different title & cover than that which was unleashed on most of the world. I bought this strictly for the novelty of those factors at Princeton Record Exchange back in 1983 and have never actually played it. The record looks unplayed, though there are numerous superficial marks on the vinyl surface that appear to be a result of the plastic bag sleeve that it came enclosed in & has been stored in since its release in 1967 (roughly 16 years before I bought it). The only issue, surface-wise, that I see is a tiny bump in the vinyl, followed immediately by a small, superficial scratch mark on "2,000 Man" (a/k/a "El Hombre 2,000" on this copy). It looks like a pressing gaffe & nothing resulting from use/misuse of the record. I have not played the record, ever, nor do I plan to - again, this was purchased as a collector's item. However, as I have been avidly collecting and playing records for many decades & this glitch I see on the surface may cause at least an intermittent click for a few seconds - it is my duty to point it out. That said, the rest of the surface looks great.
Cover-wise - all four corners have some wear - although pretty minor, except the lower right corner (facing the front cover), which features some light creasing. There is a roughly 1 1/2" seam split on the upper right corner; a roughly 3" seam split at the lower right corner; a roughly 3" seam split in the middle of the lower edge (where the disc has been sitting on it on shelves for years) & a little more cracking of paper elsewhere on the seams (though not splits) - the SPINE, however, featuring the title, etc. - is in good shape, except for minor corner wear top & bottom. All in all, this is a really nice copy of this record & certainly a nice display copy. If you are in the market for a Peerless Mexican copy of what some call the Stones' greatest folly, while some others call it an unjustly unrecognized triumph - look no further - unless dead mint is what you're after.
